Description
Few places in the world can stun you out of your everyday headspace like the fjords of British Columbia's wild coast.
On this 5-day expedition, led by EO member and expedition guide Kevin Smith, you'll meander a maze of islands and inlets Kevin knows well, share inspiration with other EO members and SLPs, nosh on glorious coastal cuisine, and hang with some epic wild animals, too.
The trip explores the fabled Desolation Sound region.
-- Trip Details --
We've chartered the entire luxury expedition yacht, Cascadia, for EO members on this once-in-a-lifetime, EO-exclusive journey. You'll be able to re-charge your spirit amid scenery laced with waterfalls, the sweet forest scent as you walk ashore, the sound of a whale's breath, and the taste of fresh prawns your group caught from the cold, clear water.
Aside from cruising through Desolation Sound's snow-capped mountains and green islands in the beautiful month of May, EO guests will have a chance to kayak in pristine coves and hike lush rainforest. Guests can catch prawns and fish to then ask the chef to prepare them into that night’s feast.
Wildlife viewing is also on the agenda. This area is home to seabird colonies, marine mammals such as sea lions, seals, otters, humpback whales, porpoises and orcas. There is also a chance of seeing a majestic grizzly bear, foraging on sedges at the water's edge.
We're also planning some special-to-this-trip-only features, such as visiting the entrepreneur behind a regional oyster farm and savouring fresh oysters with local sparkling wine.
This is a trip for all the senses -- we'll go ashore frequently to experience the sights, sounds, feel and taste of what Robert F. Kennedy Jr called the 'last great North American rainforest'.
Being exclusive to EO members, this trip means your fellow guests -- and your host -- are kindred spirts, people who can relate to your own entrepreneurial journey. SLPs are welcome.
-- Your Hosts --
The trip's host, Kevin Smith, is himself an EO member and the beautiful yacht you'll travel on is the latest in his own company's story as an internationally respected expedition company. Formerly a backcountry park ranger and land use negotiator, Kevin and his team have built Maple Leaf Adventures into a major employer today.
Your crew are locals with expert knowledge of the lesser-known anchorages, waterfalls, forest trails, and even pictographs.
