1 Welcome aboard, cruising watching for wildlife. Evening kayak or zodiac cruise. Welcome dinner.

2 Cruising the spectacular scenery of the coast’s longest fjord – granite cliffs, waterfalls and mountain peaks. Shore trips in estuary meadow frequented by bears in spring and fall, and wildflowers in spring and summer, and in the coastal temperate rainforest.

3 Further exploration to the end of the fjord and the Kitlope river valley, the world’s largest intact temperate rainforest. Exploration of the river and its natural history, visit and interpretation at the very moving bear pole site (subject of an NFB film). Optional kayaking, and overnight anchorage at the base of 4,000-foot Coast Mountains.

4 Potential cultural site visit. Cruising inland waters looking for whales. Remote natural hot springs visit.

5 Visit whale researchers at remote station. Viewing marine mammals in one of the coast’s best habitats for humpback whales, fin whales and killer whales, as well as other species.

6 Visit marine mammal colony, view seabirds and arrive at the outer coastal area. Remote island anchorage, beachcombing and optional hike to view. Evening beach fire (when permitted) and star gazing.

7 Explore remote, outer coastal islands, islets and beaches, observing marine wildlife and intertidal life. Watch for seabirds and wolves or wolf sign in this habitat for marine wolves. Optional kayaking and fishing.

8 Island hopping small remote islands, exploring nature at the edge of the great Pacific Ocean, and remote beaches. Optional kayaking and fishing.

9 Returning to the Great Bear Rainforest’s inland waters, whale watching, rainforest walks.
