Photo of the Month – January 2011

The SV Maple Leaf takes us to places other people rarely, if ever, reach. This spectacular beach on the west coast of the Great Bear Rainforest provided superb beachcombing, wildlflowers including vetch and “indian paintbrush”, shorebird viewing, vistas off to sea, and a view of a grey whale feeding just offshore. And nobody else was anywhere near us – thank you to the good ship Maple Leaf and her amazing navigation crew. First Mate Greg Shea took this photo in June 2010 on a Great Bear Rainforest tour in summer.
