June to August
Summer brings a high-pressure system alone the Pacific Northwest, meaning more consistent weather patterns. Beneath the water’s surface, plankton and krill bloom, inspiring migrations the length of the continent as whales return here to feed. To experience it at all, and to reach the richest areas, you must travel by water, as people have done here for millennia.
The coastal beaches that face toward the open Pacific Ocean stretch on for miles. It’s a true sense of wilderness out here; wolves occasionally make an appearance, the warm currents bring in strange creatures from the deep, and the huckleberries are hanging off the bushes ready to be eaten by roaming bears.
While most of British Columbia’s summer destinations are teeming with tourists, our expeditions offer an alternative escape to areas where you can find solitude in nature.
