1 Board, orientation, cruising to the Broughton Archipelago. Humpback whale & porpoise viewing. Optional evening kayak.

2 Orca viewing for hours. Afternoon forest interpretive walk, intertidal life exploration.

3 Village Island ancient Kwakwaka’wakw village site, personal guided tour at U’mista Cultural Centre, Alert Bay.

4 Heading deeper into the archipelago, visiting a collection of islands with various habitats excellent for walks or kayaking. Possibility to view local black bears on the beach. Visit remote Echo Bay float house community and Billy Proctor’s Museum.

5 Cruising mainland fjord, river estuary meadow walk, rainforest walk. Optional kayak, zodiac ride.

6 Further explorations among the fjords, watching for wildlife. Shore trips in rainforest and river estuaries.

Explore the northern Vancouver Island and Broughton Archipelago, in the southern Great Bear Rainforest. Island hop for a week, obeserving wildilfe and exploring the rainforest, wild beaches and the region's cultural history.
Typical wildlife includes orcas, humpback whales, porpoises, dolphins, sea lions and possible black bears.
Ashore, explore islands with white shell beaches (ancient village sites) and the ancient rainforest of the mainland fjords.
At Alert Bay, get in touch the culture of the Kwakwaka'wakw people, which has been deeply rooted on this coast since time immemorial.
