Once I saw the photo of the Swell and checked her out from the article written in the summer edition of BC magazine in 2015, I knew from that moment on that was how I was going to see Alaska.
Our activities fulfilled everything I anticipated doing and then some. We sat in hot springs, a few did some fishing and we were treated to a fresh halibut dinner, grizzly bear watching, hiking in a rainforest to an observatory to see salmon spawning, we were treated to amazing performances by humpback whales, killer whales and porpoises, got to get close to an icefield to hear and see calving taking place, even had ice chips chopped from "bergie bits" by Miles, kayaking, hikes to waterfalls, hikes on beaches...never a dull moment. We had wonderful conversations and new friendships were made.

Thank you so much Maple Leaf!! The only trip we've ever came back twice and hopefully we'll be back again. The highlight for me was the Orcas, second only to the camaraderie found with the guests and crew.

Every morning a new adventure; every evening a satisfied feeling! The experiences we have had aboard Maple Leaf will be with us for the rest of our lives. Hopefully these great places we have visited will greatly outlive our memories of them.

This was the trip of a lifetime! I had a marvelous time but if I started to list all the things I loved it would take me all day – the scenery, the wildlife, the company of great people, the food, the all-around service – this is just for starters. I especially loved how we stopped for the whales, porpoises, etc.. You run a wonderful expedition and you are such special people – always cheerful, eager and enthusiastic, quick to serve and to share your knowledge. I’m so glad we chose Maple Leaf for our Alaska experience and I would happily do it all over again.

Ho hum, another great Maple Leaf trip. Don’t know how you choreograph the animals, weather, and scenery to generate all the magical experiences people come to expect. In the words of Siskel and Ebert, ‘two thumbs up for a great production’. Take care gang; already looking at a bear trip for next year.

Thanks for making this trip of a lifetime happen. It far exceeded my expectations. The beauty of the coast, the fabulous displays put on by the sea animals, and birds. Every day offered new delights. It was wonderful to be able to relax in the capable hands of the crew, especially ‘he who must be obeyed’.
A special thanks to Steve for meeting the challenges of my rather restrictive diet. It was a pleasure coming to know the agile, competent, caring Ashley and enthusiastic, fun-loving Miles. I don’t believe I have ever met someone so multi-talented as Briony – artist, writer, musician, raconteur, dancer. I shall be practising the gumboot dance.
It was also a pleasure meeting my fellow passengers – such intelligent and wide-ranging interests. So many good laughs. Thank you all!

How to put into words the trip of a lifetime? The Maple Leaf crew needs to be pinpointed as the glue that held together some of the best days of our lives. Thank all of you because you have handed me a huge treasure of an experience. Incredible! Off the charts!
