Survivorman_LauraBombierphotoThe weeklong trip explores the fabled fjords and islands of Desolation Sound, Vancouver Island and the Salish Sea, on Canada’s southwest coast, as spring blooms. It features the natural world, including plenty of shore trips and wildlife viewing with naturalist guides, including Stroud.

As a bonus on this trip, Stroud will be available for one-on-one conversations as well as group presentations.

inletanchorage-kevinsmithHe has been taught by indigenous peoples, ethnobotanists and survivalists, in places as diverse as the Kalahari desert, the Canadian Arctic and the Papua New Guinea rainforest, on how to live alone, without tools, in nature. He will share his rare insights from this experience, including how humans across the globe connect spiritually to the earth.

The trip, aboard the heritage Canadian sailing ship Maple Leaf, is definitely comfortable. While Stroud may be an expert at living off grubs and sleeping on rocks, Maple Leaf’s small group of guests will dine on gourmet food by the ship’s chef, in the warmth and comfort of the Maple Leaf’s galley.
