Meet the 2026 Canadian Geographic Ambassadors

Posted on

by

Each year, a select group of explorers, photographers, scientists, and storytellers joins our Canadian Geographic special-edition expeditions. These ambassadors travel with guests throughout the voyage—sharing their expertise in the field, offering presentations onboard, and bringing deeper context to the landscapes and cultures we explore.

Our 2026 ambassadors include a renowned naturalist and dear friend of the company, acclaimed photographers, and one of Canada’s most celebrated anthropologists—each offering their own perspective on the wild coast.

Discover the people joining us in 2026 and the expeditions they’ll be part of:

Briony Penn

A writer, artist, educator, and lifelong naturalist based on Salt Spring Island, Briony brings deep ecological knowledge, cultural context, and a rare ability to make complex systems feel personal, human, and alive. This April, she joins us aboard Swell for a Canadian Geographic Special Edition Expedition through the Salish Sea—where guests are invited to experience this extraordinary region as a living story.

Jenny Wong

Jenny Wong is a visual storyteller, wildlife and adventure photographer, whose work brings science, conservation, and place to life through careful observation and compelling imagery. On these Special Edition expeditions, Jenny shares both her photographic approach and her broader perspective on conservation storytelling, helping guests slow down, observe carefully, and engage more deeply with the landscapes and wildlife of the wild Pacific Northwest.

Scott Forsyth

A landscape photographer, writer, and Canadian Geographic Photographer-in-Residence, Scott has spent years documenting Canada’s wild edges, exploring how geography, light, and time shape our understanding of place. On this Canadian Geographic Special Edition Expedition, his perspective invites guests to observe the grandeur of Southeast Alaska’s living landscapes.

Why Travel With a Canadian Geographic Ambassador

Canadian Geographic special-edition voyages are designed to deepen the experience of exploration.

Traveling with an ambassador adds an extra layer of discovery to your expedition.

Traveling with a Royal Canadian Geographical Society ambassador means guests benefit from insight shared both in the field and onboard—through conversations, presentations, and moments of discovery along the way.

These departures also bring together expedition leaders, guides, and crew specifically selected for their ability to interpret landscapes, wildlife, and culture through a storytelling lens. The result is a voyage where observation becomes understanding, and where the places we visit are revealed through the perspectives of those who have dedicated their lives to studying and sharing them.
