Jan 17, 2013 – Great news from Haida Gwaii today!

According to a press release by Parks Canada, three Parks Canada scientists discovered hot seeps flowing on the island. Thermal activity and water flow had been stopped following the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in the area last November.

This is great news for all who love the hot springs on this special island in Gwaii Haanas National Park Marine Reserve and Haida Heritage Site.

Perhaps one day the pools will fill again.

You can read more about it in the official press release, Hotsprings newsrelease.17.01.13.
